MYCELX Marine Applications
MYCELX
marine products remove hydrocarbons, ranging from oil to gasoline
sheen, out of water in a single pass. MYCELX instantly and permanently
bonds hydrocarbon compounds to its surface, keeping them from separating,
emulsifying and releasing. The technology allows the cartridges to
permanently remove the pollutants in a single pass with less than
1 psi of pressure drop (even when fully saturated). Saturated MYCELX
cartridges and can be safely incinerated and even used to generate
energy due to their high BTU content.
MYCELX marine products include the BilgeKleen for bilge water, the
Watermaker Protection System for RO membrane protection, the Boater
Emergency Spill Kit, the FuelKleen Splash Absorbing Fueling Collars

MYCELX FuelKleen
New Fuel Collar Protects Water At Marinas
In ongoing efforts to protect the environment from pollutants, MYCELX
Technologies Corporation has introduced the MYCELX FuelKleen Splash
Absorbing Fueling Collar
to help catch drips and splashes from fuel pump nozzles at marinas.
FuelKleen instantly catches oil, gasoline and diesel fuel before the
contaminants hit the water where they can cause damage to the ecosystem
as well as garner boaters big fines from the U.S. Coast Guard.
MYCELX Technologies is the sole manufacturer and marketer of patented
MYCELX compounds that can instantly remove harmful contaminants, including
an entire range of organic chemicals, from water. Products infused
with MYCELX passed the California Department of Fish and Game's rigid
aquatic toxicity tests, which determined MYCELX can safely be used
in marine environments during spill responses.
MYCELX is infused into numerous materials and is able to remove pollutants
from water to below detectable limits (BDL) in a single pass. Once
pollutants come in contact with MYCELX, they bond instantly to the
material and become extremely hydrophobic and viscoelastic (thickened),
which removes them entirely from the water stream.
The FuelKleen collar can be reused until it is fully saturated with
oil and fuel.

MYCELX VentKleen
Boaters Can Help Protect Environment With VentKleen
- MYCELX Technologies offers overflow protection
device for marinas
Boaters can help protect the environment and the waters they enjoy
by using MYCELX Technologies Corporation VentKleen Overflow Protection
Device. VentKleen catches drips
and splashes from boat fuel vents during fueling operations at marinas
and boatyards.
VentKleen's dual suction cup design allows the device to be attached
to boat hulls and holds a MYCELX-infused Versipad in place under the
fuel vent. The Versipad then instantly catches fuel before it reaches
the water and causes damage to the ecosystem. Spills also can garner
boaters' fines from the U.S. Coast Guard.
VentKleen originally was developed for the Tampa Bayside Marina, a
"green" marina that offers high and dry storage to Florida
boaters. The marina is working to become part of the prestigious Florida
Clean Marina Program, designed to help keep the coast and waterways
clean while holding marinas to specific criteria. Tampa Bayside acts
as a beta site for MYCELX marine products.
MYCELX Technologies is the sole manufacturer and marketer of patented
MYCELX technology that instantly removes harmful contaminants, including
an entire range of organic chemicals, from water. MYCELX is infused
into numerous materials and is able to remove pollutants from water
to below detectable limits (BDL) in a single pass. Once pollutants

MYCELX Sub 5 Bilge System
Lloyds Register Type Approval for:
IMO MEPC 107(49) Type C Emulsion Certified Bilge System
Click Here to see Lloyds Register Certified Lab Test Results
Ships crews have been dealing with the problem of bilge water discharge for years.
Most Chief Engineers we've spoken with readily admit that OWS's(Oil Water Separators)
do not consistently perform well enough to maintain a discharge concentration of
15 PPM* or less. When heavy or emulsified are encountered by the OWS most are
typically unable to remove these below the 15 PPM* requirement. With evermore strict
enforcement of the current laws, crewmembers and company executives are putting
themselves in jeopardy every time they send water over the side of a vessel. Without
Mycelx they are forced to keep the water onboard until such time as they can send it
ashore, which can be expensive. With the Mycelx system these problems are solved.
By simply installing our Mycelx system on the discharge of the OWS you can
consistently and easily meet the 15 PPM* requirement.
* 5 PPM for Great Lakes
Certified To Discharge Less Than 5 PPM At Influent Concentrations
up to 3000 PPM.
Designed To Operate As A Stand Alone Oil Water Separator or as a Bolt On Polishing Unit.
The Sub 5 Bilge Systems Use Emulsion Breaking Bilge Polishing Cartridges.
|
The Mycelx multi-cartridge filters are used to remove oils and other hydrocarbons, including
EMULSIFIED OILS, from water in a single pass. They are available in 5 micron HRM standard
oil & grease cartridges, or as 1 micron Emulsion Breaking cartridges.
|
CASE STUDY
These samples were taken from a 6 month old OWS onboard an oil tanker that has
emulsified oil problems. The first sample was taken from the OWS without any
Mycelx filters installed. The second sample was taken with our Mycelx bag filter
installed to condition the oil being sent to the cartridge filters. the final sample
is the discharge from the Mycelx EB-1 micron cartridge filter using the Emulsion
Breaking technology.

MYCELX Wet Weather Kit
MYCELX Technologies Corporation has introduced the MYCELX Wet Weather
Emergency Response Kit to help catch harmful contaminant spills before
they have a chance to damage the environment.
The
kit can be used for on-water spills or those that occur during wet
weather and can remove oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, transmission fluids,
sheen and chlorinated solvents from streams, rivers and stormwater
runoff.
MYCELX Technologies is the sole manufacturer and marketer of patented
MYCELX compounds that can instantly remove pollutants, including an
entire range of organic chemicals, from water. MYCELX products have
passed the California Department of Fish and Game's rigid aquatic
toxicity tests, which determined MYCELX can safely be used in marine
environments for spill response.
MYCELX products remove pollutants from water to below detectable limits
in a single pass. Once pollutants come in contact with MYCELX, they
bond instantly and become extremely hydrophobic (repellent to water)
and viscoelastic (thickened), causing them to be permanently removed
from the water stream.
The Wet Weather Emergency Response Kit includes MYCELX booms, immobilant
pads, Viscochips, and PowerSolve multi-purpose cleaner. The products,
none of which absorb water, are strong, lightweight and easy to maneuver
and dispose of.

Storm Water Filtration System
The MYCELX Stormwater Filtration System is designed to fit in parking
lot drain units and works to remove harmful pollutants found in stormwater
runoff.
The
system uses an easy-to-assemble gutter system in conjunction with
the Stormwater Filtration System filled with MYCELX PermaKleen, a MYCELX
infused product, to catch the "first flush" of
rainwater from parking lots. This "first flush" contains
the highest concentration of oil and gas contamination. The result
is an effluent clear of sheen, oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, transmission
fluids and chlorinated solvents. The system uses MYCELX technology
to instantly remove pollutants, including an entire range of organic
chemicals, from water. The MYCELX Stormwater Filtration System can
also be installed below grade for use in plant floors and parking
lots and carries a Class B load rating.
Industry proven MYCELX products are able to remove 99-plus-percent
of pollutants from water in a single pass with less than 1 psi of
backpressure. Once pollutants come in contact with MYCELX, they
are instantly bonded to the material and become extremely hydrophobic
and viscoelastic (thickened), which permanently removes them from
the water stream.

Oil & Gas Immobilants
MYCELX Technologies offers several specialty products to help with
oil-spill clean up.
MYCELX manufactures the most technically advanced and efficient products
for immobilizing oil available anywhere. All products are infused
with patented MYCELX technology and are designed for specific oil
remediation tasks. Every cleanup task from sheen to tarballs can be
quickly and efficiently addressed using MYCELX products. The use of
these products will maximize response effectiveness, while drastically
reducing material usage, water drag-out, waste generation and ultimately,
environmental damage.
Versimat is used for light to medium oils. The large
surface-contact area distinguishes it from other standard sweep or
boom products. The contact area, covering 45.8 square feet and weighing
only 2.8 pounds, offers the largest square footage per pound of any
product available and has an oil capacity of up to120 lbs.
Terraguard protects bird estuaries, environmentally sensitive
wetlands and shorelines. Extending from above the oil-water interface
to sand level, it absorbs bulk amounts of oil both above and below
the water surface. Engineered for rapid deployment, it protects the
shore from tar balls, emulsification products and surface sheen. It
also is used for emergency spill response as a instantly deployable
underflow weir.
Viscochips can be applied directly to thicken light oils
and enhance the effectiveness of skimmers. These specially treated
wood fibers function as rheology modifiers, causing oil to become
more cohesive. The wood fibers can also solidify heavy oils into a
solid, buoyant mass.
Sheen Devil is a super buoyant oil-and-sheen boom designed
specifically for the removal of sheen from water. It has five times
the surface area of conventional booms, with only one-tenth the weight.
Its high buoyancy and inability to absorb water it maximum exposure
to surface films and eliminate water drag-out, reducing waste disposal
costs.
Versipad is used for bulk sorption of light to medium
oils. It prevents weathering and separation on contact and is able
to remove up to one-half pound of oil on surface areas up to 18 square
feet.
Smartpad is used for oil remediation in water
or on land. Its design protects surfaces beneath the pad by absorbing
oil without letting it pass through. Each is capable of removing over
two pounds of oil and prevents weathering and separation on contact.
